UES's Indigo denim shorts are the quintessential summer essential for fade enthusiasts. Crafted from lightweight Japanese selvedge denim, the fabric is made using the oldest existing spinning machine in Japan called Ishikawadai. This machine spins threads slowly, resulting in a fabric woven with a texture closer to hand-spinning compared to high-speed spinning machines. The result is a lightweight and breathable fabric with a fantastic texture that will fade like no other.

The construction of these shorts is unparalleled. Internally reinforced with high-quality Japanese linen renowned for its moisture absorption and quick-drying properties, the crotch, waist, and pockets exude strength and texture. Complemented by buffalo horn buttons sourced from natural materials, these shorts are further fortified with triple stitching and reinforced fabrics, ensuring durability even after repeated washing without compromising their shape.

These shorts runs slightly small. Generally, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect fit. It is unsanforized but has been one-washed, so there will be no further shrinkage.

UES is a small Japanese label founded by Chuji Matsumoto in 1994. UES comes from the English word "Waste", which means that Matsumoto-San wants you to make full use of each garment for as long as possible before discarding it. It is a small judgement of the concept of disposable wear that is so commonplace today in the world of fashion and from which Matsumoto-San disassociates himself completely.
